Restarts Aren't Reserved For Mondays...Or Even Mornings

You can restart at any time. 

It doesn’t have to be Monday…or even tomorrow morning. Do it NOW.

Don’t fuck it up and think, “Oh, I can’t get my head in the game today. Fuck it.” Then, go off and have a candy bar and completely fuck up the rest of the day. 

This is applicable to anything you’re trying to do. Not just eating healthier or creating the business you fucking want. 

The fact is, we all have a moment that fucks us up. It’s what we do in the next moment that matters most. 

NOTORIOUS 

I am notorious for setting a health goal and fucking it up before 9am. Literally. Every day.

In fact, one of the things I do BEST is fuck myself up. 

But I keep going. 

It might be three weeks later, but I keep going. 

“Tomorrow, I’m going to have my smoothie and supplements after I work out.” 

12pm comes and I’ve eaten everything in the house EXCEPT my smoothie. And what workout? 

I will continue to lie to myself. 

And I will continue to start over. 

Because I KNOW what I want when it comes to my health. 

I am also well aware of the triggers and challenges I live with that I allow to make achieving those goals harder than they need to be. 

ACCEPTANCE

But I don’t wallow in guilt and shame about it. (I have enough of that from other places). 

I accept where I am. Do what I can. And show that little girl in me who is lost that it’s okay. We’re safe and we’ll take as many little baby steps as we can to get where we’re going. 

You can get to that place, too. 

At this point in the game, it’s just about being better than yesterday. 

You can do it. You just have to let yourself fuck up and be okay with it. 

IT’S NOT ALWAYS EASY…BUT IT’S ALWAYS SIMPLE

You’ll find that the more adept you become at removing the emotions around a situation, the easier those situations become. 

Yes, you’ve heard it a million times. 

But how do you break that habit of carrying all the bullshit that comes with having to do the things that scare you or make you feel guilty or sad or or or…?

BREAK THE HABIT

The good news is there are different ways to break that habit: 

  1. Gratitude - lose yourself in gratitude - VISCERALLY, not that lipservice bullshit

  2. Freewriting - let yourself play it all out on paper and release the thoughts in your head (because they ARE just that - thoughts)

  3. RPG - step into your highest and best self long enough to role-play being in the position you want to be in - and then let that higher self you show compassion and empathy to the you who is fighting the things you want to do

  4. Give yourself a pre-game pep talk - acknowledge your fears and all the emotions that you’re being pummeled with and allow them space to exist…then SWIFTLY move into inspiration and motivation

If you look at the businesses of people who have mastered moving around these kinds of emotion, you’ll see businesses whose owners get it. 

When they talk, they’re rooted confidence and conviction. 

Whey they show up, you can see it in their posture. 

When they write, you can even feel it in the words they choose. 

I hold that same conviction for you, even if you struggle to do it. That’s why I can write the words that make you think twice before putting them on the paper.
