Become An Anomaly (Even As ND)

Gary Vee once said, “If you want to be an anomaly, you have to act like one.”

That was back in 2016. I’m still trying to figure out how. LOL!

But I know this…

If you want to win, you have to make the win the action. Not the win, itself.

That means, don’t go looking for your income goals or your fitness goals or your relationship goals to be the end game.

The end game has to be that you did the shit you needed to do.

Anomalies are not working for the win. They’re working for the action it takes to get to the win.

Now…

If you are neurodivergent, particularly ADHD (symptoms or diagnoses), waiting weeks or even months for a “thing” to happen, can suck the dopamine right out of the transformation, the victory, you’re looking for.

But if you make the daily DOING the win, then you get served the dopamine much faster. Like on the daily, mkay??

Can you hear me in the back??

The dopamine is our goal.

How can you deliver daily doses of dopamine?

MAKE IT A GAME Like Daily D(opamine)

If you, like me, struggle to get that all-important high so you can keep going, try gamifying your approach. You don’t even NEED rewards for the game…the POINTS are the rewards. They are the servers of the Daily D(opamine)™ and will keep you looking for opportunities in your day to grab more D LOL!

The Rules of the Daily D(opamine) Game:

1. Decide on the outcome you want.

2. Create a list of all the NON-NEGOTIABLE things you need to do daily to keep moving toward your goals.

(If this feels daunting because you’d have to do A LOT to create the change you’re looking for, try narrowing it down. Work on the biggest goals first.)

_______________

Sidenote: Jason Miller, author and creator of “Jupiter: The Sorcery of Achievement”, suggests that you don’t try to change a lot of habits at once, but change one big one that will influence those others.

For example, meditation can be a great way to help you become more mindful, as well as help you create more calm in your life. It can also help rewire your brain. So, instead of working on rewiring individual beliefs that may be blocking your path, work on meditation which may do the rewiring of multiple beliefs at once. Make sense?

_______________

Back to the game:

3. Assign a points system where each non-negotiable gets a set amount of points. You can assign each one a single point or make them five points each, whatever works for you.

4. Record your points, daily. Use paper and pen or a keyboard and screen…whatever will keep you on track best.

5. Anchor recording your points to bedtime, so that just before you go brush your teeth, you tally the day’s wins. Another benefit of doing it this way is that you also get to go to bed with your wins on your mind, which helps set up tomorrow for more.

The goal is to obviously be able to do them all each day, but you may find that you have to build those numbers up. So…just KEEP GOING. DO WHAT YOU CAN. The point is that you have FUN playing the Daily D(opamine).

Also, if you’re actually recording your points at night, the next day, you’ll likely find yourself thinking, “Oh, I need to go do 123 so can get my points!”

Guess what that does? Gets you the point AND the dopamine at the time of doing…and then, you get it AGAIN when you record it at bedtime. Fuck yes.

If you want to power up your chances of sticking to your game, grab a clearing from Robin Jonna Rosenhaus to help you energetically bushwhack the BS that’s currently slowing your path to progress. She also has a Monthly Clearing Club that delivers brand new clearings that you need for this kind of work each month!

The Daily D(opamine) is just one way to gamify serving your own mind the dopamine it craves AND to keep on track to becoming the anomaly you want to become. And if this doesn’t work for you, maybe it’ll inspire you to create one that will!
